Jim Thorpe, Psy.D.

Dr. Jim Thorpe is an Iowa licensed psychologist and health services provider with diverse clinical and administrative experience within the Behavioral Healthcare industry. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in addictions and Master degree in Counseling Psychology at Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. In addition he received a Masters degree in Sport Psychology from Florida State University. His theoretical orientation is within the cognitive-behavioral paradigm. Dr. Thorpe’s clinical focus is upon the mood and anxiety spectrum disorders with adult populations and he works with individuals to establish healthy and effective lifestyles.

In addition to his clinical work he is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health to conduct substance abuse evaluations and OWI evaluations and he teaches the court ordered Children in the Middle parenting program in Ankeny, Altoona, Johnston and Newton each month. Dr. Thorpe is a member of the American Psychological Association, Iowa Psychological Association and serves as board president of the Iowa Psychological Foundation.Dr. Thorpe works out of our Ankeny and Newton offices.

Phyllis Eddy, MA, LMHC, NCC

Phyllis Eddy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She incorporates several therapy modalities in her clinical practice with children, youth and adults. Her treatment approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy and solution focused therapy. Mrs. Eddy has designed a therapeutic play therapy room at the Center for Interpersonal Effectiveness to effectively address the unique treatment needs of children. She received a Masters degree in Counseling from Seton Hall University and has worked in Employee Assistance and Community Mental Health settings for many years and has been in private practice for the past 4 years. Mrs. Eddy is a National Board Certified Counselor and a member of both the American Mental Health Counseling Association and Iowa Mental Health Counseling Association. Mrs. Eddy works out of our Ankeny offices.

Lori Eisbrener, MA LMHC

Lori Eisbrener, MA LMHC is an Iowa Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She utilizes a family centered approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, parenting skill development and parent-child interaction therapy. She works with children, adolescents and adults with a clinical focus on mood and behavior related disorders with the specialty interest of infant mental health. Mrs. Eisbrener earned her Masters degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has worked in the behavioral health field for decades. She is a member of both the American Mental Health Counseling Association and the Iowa Mental Health Counseling Association. Mrs. Eisbrener works out of our Ankeny office.

Susan Price Saylor, LISW

Susan Price Saylor is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who earned her Bachelors degree in Science majoring in Social Work from Iowa State University in 1991 and her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 1995. She has been an LISW since 1997 working with people of all ages in a variety of settings. She uses a number of modalities in her practice but primarily focuses on Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Ms. Price Saylor works out of our Ankeny office.

Lisa Walton, LISW

Lisa Walton is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the state of Iowa. Lisa has a wealth of experience working with both children and adults. She uses a variety of treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Lisa also uses play therapy techniques when working with children. Lisa’s specialties include depression, anxiety, ADHD, adjustment issues, as well as family and relationship issues. She strives to guide and support her clients to obtain their goals. Lisa earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology from Central College in Pella, Iowa and then went on to earn her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa. Lisa is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and works out of our Ankeny office.

Pamela J. Davis, MA LMFT

Pamela (Pam) Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Iowa. Pam obtained her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the United States International University in San Diego California. She practiced, supervised and trained in the Central Valley for 15 years utilizing individual, couples/marital and group therapy modalities. Pam has worked at several in-patient and outpatient treatment centers and has been in private practice since 2003. In addition, Pam worked with the Department of Consumer Affairs for 11 years facilitating substance abuse groups for the Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Boards in the state of California. Pam’s clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse problems, LGBTQ matters and relationship issues. Pam works out of our Ankeny office.
